Day 14 - Lucknow, the land of Nawabs & Kababs!

Another lovely day! 295 kms from Varanasi to Lucknow, we had an early 6.45 am start, so checked-in at Lucknow by 12.30 pm. Lovely drive - Toll roads all the way! 

Last night's dinner @ Varanasi was stupendous. We ordered in food via Zomato from a Tandoori kabab restaurant in Varanasi. The Mutton Karkori kababs were simply mind-blowing 👌🙏 Main course was Mutton kheema Gosht. Again, totally outstanding. I haven't had this dish before. Superbly cooked, tender, soft, meat-of-the-bone mutton, in a gravy of mutton kheema, with superb butter Rotis. 'Delicious' is an understatement 😋😅 And, the whole thing cost us 850 rupees!!! This afternoon, immediately after check-in, we made our way to world famous restaurant in Lucknow, "Tunday Kababi". Not a very high funda, fine dining restaurant, but, the food was, again, simply stupendous! We had Galouti kababs, Beef kababs, Chicken sheekh kababs, Mutton Biryani with Mutton Korma, Awadhi Kheer and Thums up to wash this down! The total bill was an astronomical 587 rupees!!😆

One thing is for sure.... A visit to Varanasi & Lucknow is a must, just to satisfy, tickle and tingle your taste buds !😀

Tonite, we have a recommendation for Lucknow's top rated Avadhi restaurant, Falaknuma ...... feedback tomorrow!

After lunch, we went to Hazratganj, Lucknow's shopping destination. Purchase of Chikankari was the objective....and, i am happy to inform you that the objective was met! 😂

I kept far away from the shopping expedition, and instead went to Habib's for a beard trim and a head massage! Loved it! Relaxing.... 

Chaat @ Hazratganj is not to be missed, is what we were told. We were not disappointed. Had Paapdi chaat @ Royal Cafe.....it was delicious! On the way back to the Hotel, we saw a beautiful Church - St. Joseph's Cathedral, Lucknow! So, we've seen 3 fabulous Cathedrals in 3 days, at most unlikeliest of places -Asansol, Varanasi & Lucknow! 

That's it for now, guys..... tomorrow morning, we head to Orchha in Madhya Pradesh ! State # 9 on our "Discovery of India"! We've been 14 days on the road....4500 kms done....! Thanks to Almighty🙏
